One of the first things I remember baking were blonde brownies – aka Blondies.  These are still one of my favorite things to bake and snack on.  There is something about the taste and texture of them that I just have always loved….  The kids were a little skeptical at first but out grew that after the final result was in their hands with a glass of milk….  I hope that you enjoy them too!!!!!

oven @ 350

  • 2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup semi sweet choc chips(optional) and I prefer them without
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips – now this is a major part of a blondie

Grease a 9×13 pan.  In a medium saucepan heat the brown sugar and butter until sugar dissolves.  Stirring constantly – then remove from heat alow to slightly cool then add eggs and vanilla.  Then flour, powder, and soda.  Spread in greased pan and sprinkle with chips before baking.  Bake 25 to 30 minutes – cool on a wire rack and cut bars while warm.
