Fudge makes everything better momentarily January 30, 2012

So today’s pick was not mine – but one of the kids.  I told Carley to go find a recipe for something that she likes that I make.  Her choice was chocolate fudge.  This is not my normal fudge recipe but it’s still a good one – its quick and easy – has ingredients we all have around the house and I made this for the Fair this year and it took a blue!!!  So it can’t be all that bad……

 Blue Ribbon Chocolate Fudge

3 cups semi sweet chocolate chips ( you really want a good quality chip for best flavor)

1 (14 ounce) can of sweetened condensed milk

1/4 cup salted butter

1 cup chopped walnuts(optional)

Place chips, milk, and butter  in a microwave safe dish – yes this is a microwave fudge recipe and it still took a blue ribbon ( I am sure all the old biddies would fall over if they knew that).  Cook until chips are melted about 4 to 5 minutes.  Stir every 2 minutes during cooking – do not over cook.  Remove and stir in nuts if you desire to do so – pour into a well-greased 8 x 8 glass baking dish and place in refrigerator until set.

And there you have it one of the easiest fudge recipes that you will ever find and you can make pb fudge also – just substitute pb chips !!!!
